The Faniks Baby Sleeper is safe when used as directed. Please read and follow the warning instruction that comes with the sleeper. Also read the Infant Sleep basics information and other educational instruction on our website. When we decided to share our sleeper with mothers, safety was our number one priority. We know that our sleeper is comfortable. We believe it may keep babies sleeping on their back, prolong their sleep duration and reduce their risk of spitting up. But more importantly, an infant mattress must be safe. To answer this safety question, before our first sale, we donated the first fifty mattresses to new mothers and we didn’t get any complaints about any adverse events from these mothers. Also, a pediatrician designed our sleeper, so safety in the design was as important for us as comfort. Our initial product had baby restraints. We removed this because we felt that a restraint may cause a baby to be trapped in uncomfortable position therefore increasing the baby’s risk of strangulation or other adverse events. This has happened in the past with some infant sleep products with restraint that were recalled. Healthy babies have the innate capacity to move when uncomfortable; a restraint, we believe, might limit a baby’s movement when uncomfortable. We also looked at different fabrics before deciding on the current cover fabric that we use based on its safety features. It has a TPU laminate that acts as a barrier to dust mite and thus makes it hypoallergenic, it is also free of lead, phthalates, fire retardant and other chemicals that could be harmful to your baby. This sleeper complies with the CPSC as well as the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) (F3118-15) standard safety specification for infant inclined sleep products. Our foam manufacturer is certified by CentiPUR-US certification for flexible polyurethane foam products. The mattress is made of high-density materials, and is free of lead, phthalates, fire retardant and other chemicals that could be harmful to your baby.
BabyComfort sleeper is an infant inclined sleep product, intended to provide sleeping accommodations for an infant up to approximately 5 months of age. We designed BabyComfort sleeper to help babies sleep well on their backs. BabyComfort sleeper was invented out of necessity. Your baby's comfort is our mission and your baby needs a good night sleep as well.
We recommend using the sleeper as a standalone product on the floor. It may be placed inside a suitable sized bassinet. It will fit into all bassinets sized 16 × 31 inches, and can be adjusted to fit most bassinets within one inch of these dimensions. It should not be placed on the bed or inside an infant crib. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) doesn’t recommend co-sleeping with babies on the bed. Please read the attached instructional manual that comes with your sleeper and keep it for future reference.
Can be used for newborn babies until up to 5 months old, or when the infant begins to roll over or when the infant is 10 kg (22 lbs.) or more, whichever comes first.
Yes, you may buy a replacement cover at our website: www.faniksbaby.com and on Amazon.
The Faniks Baby Sleeper should not be placed in the crib or play yard. The sleeper wouldn’t fit perfectly into a crib and the extra area between the sleeper and the crib is a potential risk of entrapment of the baby between the crib sides and the sleeper. Note that the AAP, as well as the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), recommends that nothing should be placed in the crib other than the baby.
Faniks Baby sleeper does not have fire retardants. Our mattress is naturally not highly flammable through its own native characteristics and not through the use of fire retardants.
