Every child’s sleep need is unique and different from other children, and the sleep needs of a child changes as they grow.
Most adults need 7–9 hours of sleep each night. Newborns, on the other hand, sleep between 16 and 18 hours a day, and preschool children sleep between 11 and 12 hours a day. School-aged children and teens need at least 10 hours of sleep each night.
Just as eating healthy and being active is important, so is getting a good night’s sleep vital to your child’s health and development.
